SUMMARY:Middle School Robotics State Championships
DESCRIPTION:FIRST in Michigan operates a progression of programs which differs from FIRST national. Our model enables students to build upon the skills and experiences attained at one level then flow naturally to the next level without overlap. In Michigan\, FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is the sole program for middle school students with teams comprised of middle school age/grade students. \nFIRST® Tech Challenge students learn to think like engineers. Teams design\, build\, and program robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. Robots are built from a reusable platform\, powered by android technology\, and can be coded using a variety of levels of Java-based programming. \nThe premier middle school sport where teams of students\, guided by mentors\, design and build 18”X18” robots to battle in a FIRST designed game in a contest of ingenuity and innovation. \nFor more information or how to register please visit FTC – FIRST in Michigan \nAGENDA\nTHURSDAY\n12:00 PM    Venue set up\n05:00 PM    Team load-in\, inspections\, and practice (optional)\n08:00 PM    Pits close (new time)\n \nFRIDAY\n09:00 AM    Venue opens; teams will not be allowed in the pits until 10:00 AM (new time)\n09:30 AM    Volunteers report (new time)\n10:00 AM    Pits open; Team check-in (new time)\n11:30 AM    Lunch\n12:00 PM    Judging/Inspections\n03:00 PM    Drivers meeting and Opening ceremonies\n03:30 PM    Qualification matches\n08:00 PM    Pits close \nSATURDAY\n07:00 AM    Volunteers report\n07:30 AM    Pits open\n08:00 AM    Opening Ceremonies\n09:00 AM    Qualification matches\n12:30 PM    Alliance selections\n01:00 PM    Lunch\n02:00 PM    Elimination rounds\n06:00 PM    Closing ceremonies\n06:30 PM    Event teardown \n\nSchedule subject to change based on flow of the event.\nThursday:  Team Load-in/Early Inspections is optional but highly recommended.\nFriday: ALL teams must be at the event venue by 11:30 am.\nSaturday: ALL teams must be at the event venue by 8:00 am.\nPlease contact your Event Coordinator if your team will not be on site by the stipulated times.\n\n
